Three days of NASCAR action at Sonoma Raceway this weekend culminated with the Toyota/Save Mart 350 stock car race on Sunday, when Martin Truex Jr. earned his 18th career win and third victory of the season.

He led 62 of 110 laps en route to the victory, his second at Sonoma Raceway.

In addition to a jam-packed weekend of racing, in recognition of the October wildfires that ravaged Sonoma County and the North Bay, the raceway used its biggest weekend of the year to pay tribute to those affected.

During the pre-race show Sunday, local heroes and the top 10 NASCAR drivers were introduced alongside first responders from North Bay agencies.

More than 1,000 fire survivors were treated to a day at the races through the initiative.

On Saturday, the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West returned to Sonoma for the Carneros 200. The 64-lap race features a field of up-and-coming stars..

Sunday’s grand marshal was 1998 Winter Olympics gold medal skier Jonny Moseley, who gave the “gentlemen, start your engines” command.
