‘Summer Red’ and the livin’ is easy...

The red is pouring this weekend at Muscardini Cellars...|

Muscardini Cellars, always one to come up with interesting events, offers a “Summer Red Party” Saturday, May 19 where guests are invited to sport red attire, relax on Muscardini’s back lawn, enjoy new red wine releases, lawn games, music by Eric Butterfield and Aidan Eljumaily & the Singed Whiskers, and barbecue from Cochon Volant.

Rob Larman’s Cochon Volant BBQ tasting menu will include baby back ribs, 14-hour beef brisket, brined and smoked chicken breast, baked beans, radish coleslaw, watermelon and wild arugula salad, and chili cheese corn bread, all included in the ticket price.

The Summer Red Party ends at 5 p.m. just in time for Muscardini’s regular Simmer Down Saturday to start with loads of music. I was there a couple of weeks ago and was surprised at what a cool, low key entertainment venue with great wine this has become. Free for wine club members and one guest, $25 for public and additional guests. 2 to 5 p.m. 9380 Sonoma Highway, Kenwood. 933-9305.
