Let’s celebrate! California winery produces pot-infused sauvignon blanc

Are you looking for a buzz without the hangover? According to Moneyish.com, a bottle of wine with cannabis (but no alcohol), could get you high without that hangover feeling one gets from drinking too much booze.

Rebel Coast Winery appears to be the first to make a no-alcohol sauvignon blanc-flavored drink with marijuana, carrying the aroma of weed, yet still tastes like wine.

A bottle contains 16 milligrams of THC, the chemical compound in cannabis that generates the high. And a single serving has four milligrams of THC.

Edible products have no more than 10 mg of cannabis per serving size, according to California state law.

Each vintage runs a pricey $59.99 and is only available to sip legally in selected states, such as Alaska, California, Maine, Colorado, Massachusetts, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Washington DC. At least a glass of wine is not high in calories. One serving contains only 35 calories and tastes like cannabis, lemongrass, lavender and citrus, according to the company. The blend is also said to have a sauvignon blanc flavor with subtle hints of marijuana.

Rebel Coasts’ philosophy fits right in with this new offering. “Our goal is to make wine for everybody,” reads the winery’s mission statement. “No ‘chateau,’ no last names in cursive, no ‘100-year-old tradition,’ no $80 price tag. We simply make wines to excite the rebellious spirit in us all.”

Adds the mission statement: “So, get out there and kiss a stranger, get that late-night tattoo and always disco naked. Let’s get weird!”

The best way to order is via email or call Rebel Coast, given federal restrictions. To purchase, all you need is a valid ID that proves you’re 21. In addition to the sauvignon blanc, Rebel Cost intends to produce a cannabis-infused sparkling wine and rose next year.

First, the obvious.

1. Drink water. Hydrate. If eight glasses are the recommended daily allowance, then you know where to start. Drink water before, during, and after you go out on the town. Follow-up with water in the morning, too. Kidneys are working overtime when you’re drinking alcohol because the body stops creating a chemical called vasopressin. This means your kidneys must direct water straight to your bladder instead of absorbing it into the body.

2. Drink soda. A Chinese study took 57 different beverages and found that the lemon and lime pop helped process the alcohol out of your system faster. Sprite seems to be the most effective sugary beverage, causing the alcohol to be broken down faster, reducing the duration of a hangover.

3. Take a painkiller. The NHS says painkillers can help when your head is hurting. Just avoid aspirin. Go for the paracetamol-based cure or ibuprofen lysine which absorbs into the body faster.

4. Fill your tummy. For a boost in energy, munch on a bland breakfast of toast, eggs, broth or crackers. Don’t forget to eat a banana to replenish your potassium levels depleted by alcohol consumption.

5. Drop a dissolvable tablet into a glass of water. This is a sure way to replace any lost nutrients from drinking alcohol. They contain essential vitamins such as C, B, as well calcium and magnesium.

6. Drink milk thistle. The Romans used it to cure sick children, why not you? Milk Thistle contains silymarin which some experts claim helps with liver disease.

7. Eat oatmeal. A filling porridge with nut butter and berries will do the trick.

8. Nibble on some guacamole toast. This will help satisfy your craving for fatty foods, good quality fats that is.
