Sonoma’s 8th Street wineries open their doors

Annual open house on Saturday, Feb. 24|

Eighth Street wineries of Sonoma will open their doors for their annual Open House on Saturday, Feb. 24.

Off the beaten path, yet just five minutes from Sonoma Plaza, eight wineries open their cellars each winter for an afternoon of tastings and pairings.

Visitors can tour winery cellars, glass in hand and taste pairings by local chefs.

“It’s likely you’ll meet the winemakers themselves in this intimate setting – a unique opportunity, as many of these ‘special gem’ wineries are typically closed to the public,” says organizer Heather Svendsen. “Get a behind-the-scenes look at our production facilities while enjoying the rare small-batch wines produced on site.”

The cost is $45 per person in advance/$50 at the door, which includes a souvenir wine glass and access to all participating wineries. Designated Driver tickets are $10.

In support of those affected by recent fires, there will be a raffle at each participating winery with eight possible prizes.

The eight participating wineries are Talisman Wines, Enkidu Wine, Ty Caton, Stone Edge Farm, Tin Barn Vineyards, William Knuttel Winery, MacLaren & Obsidian Wine Co. The open house begins at noon and runs until 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24.
