Photography exhibit at Sonoma’s Adastra Winery

Nature stills by Todd Pickering on display|

A new exhibition coming to Adastra Wine & Art will showcase the work of nature photographer Todd Pickering. The exhibit starts this week and a free public reception will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16.

A percentage of art sales will benefit the Latino Art Project, for which Pickering is an instructor.

Pickering’s travels have taken him from above the Arctic Circle in Norway to the rainforests in Hawaii and the jungles of Sri Lanka. He has been photographing in and around the Point Reyes region on the Marin County coast for the past 30 years, and leads workshops out of his gallery in Inverness Park.

In partnership with the nonprofit Gallery Route One, Pickering is an instructor for the Latino Photography Project, which offers classes for adults and youth that bring the Latino and English-speaking populations of West Marin closer together.

The exhibit of Pickering’s work at Adastra Wine & Art will feature nature photography from the Marin coast, and will be on display through April. A percentage of art sales from the exhibit will benefit Gallery Route One.
