Eye4Adventure Sonoma photo contest

Capturing the spirit of Jack London|

In conjunction with Sonoma Valley Museum of Art’s upcoming exhibition, “An Eye for Adventure: Photographs by Jack London,” SVMA and Jack London State Historic Park are hosting a photo contest, happening now, on Instagram and Facebook.

They are looking for images that evoke Jack London’s spirit of adventure and his passion for exploring and documenting the world around him. The contest is open to everyone, young and old, with any kind of camera.

Post your own original photos (up to 10) with the hashtag #jackseye4adventure and tag @sonomamuseum and @jacklondonpark now through February 18.

Winning entries will be exhibited at SVMA from March 1 thru April 15.

The new exhibit at the museum opens on January 20 and runs through April 15.

Jack London is more known for his writing than his photography. The exhibition will introduce an array of the writer’s photographs gathered from his adventures as a war correspondent and global sailor. Included are views from the Russo-Japanese War, San Francisco’s 1906 earthquake and fire, and visits to Hawaii and the South Seas islands.
