Ice skating competition

Go toe-to-toe in ?an ice-skating blade-stravaganza this Friday at Cornerstone|

Cornerstone Sonoma is hosting a “friendly” ice skating competition at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15.

The community is invited to show off their skills, flashy costumes, best efforts or comical displays. A panel of judges, which includes Gary Saperstein, Bret Sackett, Victoria Campbell, Lisa Carlsson and Manuel Merjil, will score the performances.

Entrants should choose a piece of music and prepare a three-minute performance. The judges will announce the winner that night. Enter for free at cornerstonesonoma.com/ice-rink/

The skating rink at Cornerstone is open through Tuesday, Jan. 2. Regular hours are Monday to Thursday, 2 to 6 p.m.; Friday from noon to 7 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to noon and 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and to 5 p.m. and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Ice cleaning takes place between periods.

The rink will close at 2:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve and be closed on Christmas Day, but open on New Year’s Day.
