Pizzeria Capri closed due to water damage

Broken pipe floods venerable pie palace; to reopen soon|

Inquiries as to “What has happened to Pizzeria Capri – it’s closed” have been pouring in, and signs of “Water Damage” and “Help Wanted” hang in the windows.

So we asked property owner Jacob Begorgis about what has happened in the tiny shopping center just north of Train Town.

Begorgis said that during a recent heat wave a pipe to a sprinkler on the roof broke and created enough water damage that restaurant managers Inge and Charles Gundied had to close the restaurant. Begorgis says he owns “most of the building,” and that Charles and Inge’s lease expired on Oct. 1.

Begorgis hopes to have repairs complete and the restaurant reopened by the Gundieds, or by himself, in two to three weeks.
