On the occasion of the release of his latest book, “Evidence,” local artist Chester Arnold will be at the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art on Sunday, Oct. 1, in conversation with publisher and editor Bart Schneider of Kelly’s Cove Press.

Arnold will show images from selected chapters, describing the evolution of his subjects and his three decades as part of the Bay Area art scene, much of it here in Sonoma. Following the talk, Arnold will be available to sign copies of the book in the Museum store.

According to the museum, Arnold is among the leading American painters working today. He is interested in the capacity of painting to convey the complexities of the human psyche. Arnold’s compositions often present skewed linear perspectives that place the viewer at a distance, above and/or beyond an unfolding story.

Tickets are $12 for SVMA members and $15 general admission.
