After having been turned down initially by several publishers for a book on Sonoma resident and leading cookbook author, Paula Wolfert, author Emily Kaiser Thelin launched a Kickstarter campaign hoping to raise $30,000 to self-publish her book “Unforgettable: The Bold Flavors of Paula Wolfert’s Renegade Life.” They ended up with almost $100,000.

“Unforgettable” was released a few months ago, and Wolfert and Thelin appeared at such locations as Readers’ Books in Sonoma, Chez Panisse in Berkeley, and the Shed in Healdsburg to launch it.

Through Thelin’s contacts as former associate food editor at Food & Wine magazine, and her father’s role at a senior correspondent at the Washington Post, Thelin just announced that a new edition of “Unforgettable” will be published in October by Grand Central Life & Style, an imprint of Hachette, with a new introduction by Alice Waters of Chez Panisse.

Stay tuned for updates on when the new edition will be at Readers’ Books. The original books are sold out. The new edition will include all of the great recipes from Wolfert’s own cookbooks that are in the original edition.
