Schell-Vista firefighters fire up barbecue

At the Schell-Vista annual Chicken Bar-B-Que|

Do not miss one of the best deals in town – Sunday’s Schell-Vista Volunteer Fire Department’s annual chicken barbecue, Sunday, July 16 at Fire Station #1.

This is a valued opportunity to have some great food, chat and make new friends, take dinner home, and support our fire departments. Schell-Vista covers lots of territory from Schellville north to Sonoma Valley’s eastern hills, Mission Highlands up Norrbom Road north of the cemetery, and of course cooperates when needed by the entire Valley of the Moon fire district.

Broadway Market supplies the chickens. Each plate includes an expertly barbecued half chicken, great beans, lots of salad, rolls, and more. Beer, wine and soft drinks available. See all of our local farmers and characters. Foil for take-home. $15. Noon to 6 p.m. Cash and Visa accepted.

Green String Farm and other farm stands

Nancy and Fred Cline’s Green String Farm has reopened after a delay due to the heavy rains last winter, which left many small farms in swampy conditions. Open Friday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the corner of Old Adobe and Frates Roads in Petaluma. Best entrance is off Old Adobe Road.
