The Young Eagles program of the Experimental Aircraft Association was launched in 1992 to give interested young people, ages 8 to 17, an opportunity to go flying in an airplane. The flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers. Since 1992, more than 1.9 million Young Eagles have enjoyed a flight through the program. Young Eagles have been registered in more than 90 different countries and have been flown by more than 42,000 volunteer pilots.

Sonoma’s EAA Chapter 1268 gives free Young Eagles rides every month on the second Sunday from 9 to 11:30 a.m., weather permitting.

Young Eagle candidates should come to Sonoma Skypark 21870 Eighth St. E., accompanied by a parent or adult who can authorize the ride.

Call the Sonoma Skypark office at 996-2100 for information on local rides and visit the Experimental Aircraft Association Young Eagles site at eaa.org to learn more about the program.
