Plowing play day at Jack London Park

Family event presented May 22 by the North Coast Draft Horse and Mule Association|

The North Coast Draft Horse and Mule Association presents the 33rd annual Plowing Play Day on Sunday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Jack London State Historic Park. The free family event features historic farming practices that include plowing and mowing demonstrations as well as free wagon rides around the historic ranch buildings. Kids can learn about mules along with Clydesdale, Percheron, Shire, and Belgian draft horses. Demonstrations include blacksmithing, horseshoeing, sheep shearing, early day gas engines and more. 

The park entry fee of $10 per vehicle includes all activities. Food and beverages will be available for purchase or guests can bring their own picnic lunch to enjoy in the park.

Jack London State Historic Park is located at 2400 London Ranch Road in Glen Ellen. 

The North Coast Draft Horse and Mule Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to these gentle giants, and preserving the art of driving a team.
