April 29 is Independent Bookstore Day in Sonoma

Lots of events and fun planned at Readers Books all day|

The last Saturday in April has become a special day for those in the book world, it is the day that communities across the country celebrate Independent Bookstore Day.

Here in Sonoma, Saturday, April 29, is a big day for Readers’ Book owner Andy Weinberger.

“It’s time to party in your bookstore and celebrate independence with us,” he said his invitation to the community. The store has events planned starting at 10:30 a.m. with storytime for preschoolers, and prizes from publishing company, Little Golden Books, for attendees. Patrons can “choose your own discount” all day long and a gift with each purchase. There will be snacks and sales and a photo station in the back garden. “Most important for us is the opportunity to see our friends and neighbors and say thank you – and what better way to do this than to have a fun party,” said Weinberger.
