The Sonoma Community Center’s week of Trashion Fashion fun wrapped up midday on Sunday when more than a dozen dogs in designer duds walked the “dog walk” outside the East Napa Street building.

The week-long event began on March 18 with a gallery exhibit of Barbies in tiny “trashion” outfits, continued through the week with a walking tour, and culminated on March 24 and 25 with the human and dog runway shows.

“I am really happy that we expanded the Trashion Fashion festivities this week to include the walking tour, the Barbies and the dogs, as well as two runway shows,” said SCC special projects manager Margaret Hatcher. “These other events were really well-received and it gave people many more ways to participate.”

The winning outfit among the 30-plus entered in the runway shows was “It’s a Small World After All,” designed by model and designer Anastasia Torres-Gil.

In second place was “Flower Power,” designed and modeled by Josette Brose-Eichar.

In third place was “Catch of the Day” designed and modeled by Courtney Bristow. Other winners included “The Beat Goes On,” “Lady of the Landscape,” “The Party’s Over,” “A Walk in the Garden” and “All Dolled Up.”

Sofia Carlsson and her dog Buddy won the top prize in the canine design contest with “Crispy Couture.”

Trashion Fashion 2018 will take place the week of April 14.
