Free ‘Veggie Queen’ cooking class at Sonoma library

Learn the secrets of seasonal cooking|

Sonoma Valley Library is presenting a free class called “Cooking in Season” with Jill Nussinow, aka “the Veggie Queen,” that will include a cooking demonstration using vegetables from local farmers markets for each season.

The class is from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19 .

As the seasons change so does the produce. Nussinow will show how and where to choose the best seasonal produce, how to store it and how to cook it for the best flavor.

She often brings “show and tell,” as well as providing samples of what is cooked.

“Nussinow presented on Winter Veggies early this year,” said library manager Lisa Musgrove. “I’m sure this workshop will be as fun and informative.”

Pre-registration is required. Register online at sonomalibrary.org, call 996-5217 or stop by the library to register.
