Trashion Week begins on Saturday, March 18, and runs through March 26. SCC has offering invites to all ages to adopt a cast-off Barbie doll, re-clothe her in tiny Trashion couture and participate in the city’s first massive recycled Barbie exhibit.

“Our new Barbie Trashion Fashion show this year is a fun way to keep her out of landfill and support the Community Center’s ongoing education programs,” special projects manager Margaret Hatcher.

All dolls will be for sale in a silent auction. The “101 Trashion Barbies” exhibit opens Saturday, March 18, in the Center’s Gallery 212 with a reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Admission to the exhibit is $1. The exhibit will remain up through Sunday, March 26.

The Fashion Trashion team also seeks more entries for its first-ever dog catwalk show. The Trashion fashion show for dogs will take place at 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 26.

“We are very excited about expanding the scope of the annual Trashion Fashion event to include man’s best friend. This should be really fun!” says Hatcher.

Any and all well-behaved dogs and their owners are welcome to participate. The deadline for early registration is March 18. The participation fee is $40. Doggie duds should be made of recycled materials.

An application and information about all Trashion Week events may be found at: trashionfashionsonoma.org or by calling 938-4626x1. Proceeds benefit the Center’s educational programs.
