Sonoma Valley Hospital will offer free medication reviews at Vintage House at 264 First St. E. to review any concerns related to prescription drugs on Thursday, June 23 and July 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The “brown bag” medication review will evaluate the interaction of drugs, dosing, compliance, expiration and side effects for the benefit of prescribed patients, according to a press release from Sonoma Valley Hospital.

The service is aimed at residents who may have multiple prescriptions from multiple physicians or pharmacies, said Baqara “Maya” Yoder, PharmD, the hospital’s medication review program manager and hospital pharmacist.

“You’ll have a one-on-one private session and together we’ll review all your medications and supplements,” Yoder said. “I’ll give you an updated personalized medication list and relevant information to make sure that you’re getting the most out of your medications.”

Appointments are necessary for the medication review as the review will last approximately 45 minutes long and will be filled on a first-come basis.

To register for an appointment, go to vintagehouse.org/classes or call Vintage House at 707-996-0311 for assistance. For information about “Brown Bag Medication Reviews,” contact Community Outreach at Sonoma Valley Hospital at 707-935-5257.
