Greetings Sonoma – I hope this finds you all well and enjoying this mild weather.

I do hope the skies open up again soon as we can use the rain. But until then Doc and I have been enjoying our hikes on the weekends. Doc has come along way since his first Family Dog 1 class where we learned the basics of obedience using positive reinforcement methods. It has allowed me to have a much deeper bond with him as we work together on our training (both his and mine).

We have our next set of classes with starting on Wednesday, Jan, 28 through March 6, and after that on Tuesdays, from Feb. 24 through March 31.

Both of our instructors Annie Humphrey and Deanne Carr have a wealth of experience in dog behavior. If you have a new dog to your household or one that you’ve had for a while, but could use a little help, check out these very affordable classes at only $150 for a six-week session.

You and your dog share the experience together and will become closer; I guarantee it. Go to our website www.petslifeline.org and register for the next class. You won’t regret it.

Speaking of dogs, we have an interesting array of residents right now. I will devote another few lines to iyr darling lab/boxer mix, Bessie (Doc’s mom) who for some mysterious reason is still here! I will chalk it up to the fact that her human(s) is/are out there somewhere and just have not found her yet. Could that be you? She is such a sweet lovable girl and now she could actually be in a home with another dog, it just has to be the right dog. If you are entertaining the idea of a lab mix in your house, she is great with people of all kinds (unlike other members of her family), loves affection and is very eager to please.

Also residing at Maison de Pets Lifeline is our beautiful pitty girl, Paisley who is a love love love. Leilah is a Shepherd mix who came in at 10 months and is now 14 months. She’s a sweet, very energetic girl who loves to run and play. Chase is a Benzenji mix who is cute as a button, loves his toys and his play time. We also have three Chihuahua mixes who are painfully shy and in need of their deserving forever home. Rue, an adorable girl that is brown with mottled spots and fluffy ears, Shakira, a sweet golden colored girl and Elsa, our readhead.

Our feline population is dwindling to our winter numbers and we are keeping our Name Your Own Adoption Fee program going through the end of January so we can find forever homes for all the kitties in our care. Some of whom came to us last summer as kittens and are now almost full-grown cats. The adult cat room has some wonderful characters who are new to the room. Sunny and Dodger are both siamese mixes that are very affectionate boys. Sophie is another siamese mix who is our woman of largess and is currently in the more spacious quarters with River as neither of them plays well with others. Check out the website or just come down during our open hours, Wednesday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. or Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Treat all the critters in your life with love and kindness. Until we meet again ... peace, love and paws.
