Levine bill bans driftnet fishing

Editor, Index-Tribune:

Last week, Sonoma/Marin Assembly member Marc Levine joined forces with key coastal legislators to co-author legislation, AB 2019, to ban driftnet fishing gear that needlessly kills more than 100 whales, dolphins, sea lions and other marine animals every year.

I live in Sonoma and helped draft the bill as program director at Turtle Island Restoration Network, based in West Marin. You can see a detailed press release about the bill at http://bit.ly/MF9sXc, and you can support the bill by going to http://bit.ly/1h1LLmw.
