Ten high school seniors from eight Sonoma County high schools were honored by the Press Democrat last month for their leadership and civic contributions at the 26th annual Community Youth Service Awards. Sonoma Valley High senior Erica Larson won the top honors in the category of agriculture/vocational. Larson has been active in 4-H since preschool and is now president of Sonoma Valley 4-H. She has been active in community service throughout middle and high school and she was instrumental in the creation of small student vineyards at Adele Harrison Middle School and at the Valley of the Moon Children’s Center. She is headed to UC Davis in the fall, with plans to study agriculture business, viticulture and enology.
