La Luz wins Jefferson Award

On Nov. 5, the county’s Board of Supervisors, led by 1st District Supervisor Susan Gorin, presented La Luz Center with the prestigious 2013 Jefferson Award for Public Service, recognizing La Luz for “Excellence in Community Leadership and Civic Engagement.” Twenty-nine organizations were nominated for the local awards; 10 were finalists and five awards were given.
