Dakaboom returns to the Kenwood Depot for their fifth annual holiday show at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, and Saturday, Dec. 28.
The show features brand new material exploring new directions for the comedic duo. Known locally for bringing joy to the North Bay for more than a decade, Maria Carrillo High School alums – Kenwood local Ben McLain and Cleveland transplant Paul Peglar – have been sharing music and comedy together for half their lives … 15 years (not to date them).
Whether singing in support of the Valley of the Moon Children’s Home with their high school quartet, Total Chaos, or selling out the Spreckels Performing Arts Center with the vocal electronic harmonies of Verve band Sonos, McClain and Peglar have remained connected to the hometown audience who supported them in their early careers.
The annual show fills up the historic Depot every year with warmth and music as a growing community continues to bring their friends and family to experience the joy of what has become a holiday tradition. In past years, Dakaboom celebrated the releases of their debut CD and DVD.
This year, they celebrate the completion of their first official U.S. tour spanning more than 100 gigs; emceeing the Los Angeles A Cappella Festival; headlining A Cappella Fest in Chicago; guest entertaining aboard Princess Cruises in Alaska; a Valentine’s show at New York City’s famed club, Don’t Tell Mama; performing at 85 colleges across the country, and more.
CDs and DVDs available for purchase; drinks and refreshments available for donation.
A portion of all proceeds goes back to the Depot.
