Kenneth Michael Lovitt

Kenneth Michael Lovitt died of pancreatic cancer on August 8, 2014. Ken was born in Chicago in 1935 and moved to Sonoma in 1970 where he lived the rest of his life. He was a renaissance man of many facets; including: Boy Scout, Naval Officer stationed in the South China Sea during the Cold War, technical writer, auto mechanic, electronic technician, internet technologist and lastly a Marriage Family Therapist working with troubled youth. Ken was a fisherman, traveler and played the harmonica and recorder. He obtained his BA at the University of Chicago and Master’s degree at Sonoma State University.

Ken was a family man leaving behind his wife Andrea, son Jason, grandson and namesake Caddisun Michael Lovitt, daughter-in-law Kendra, sister Penny, sister-in-laws Carroll and Donna and two dogs Rocky and Stella. He also leaves behind a close group of friends who attended along with family a living memorial at Ken’s home six days before his death. Ken was able to attend and hear appreciation and gratitude towards him despite his weakened state. Ken had a spiritual nature. He was a lovely man who lived a quiet and honest life.
