Kathleen Hill to host live cooking demonstrations at museum

As part of the “Kitchen Memories” exhibition at the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art, Kathleen Hill will host a live cooking demonstration showcasing how some of the antique culinary tools were utilized. The event takes place on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m.

Hill will discuss and demonstrate cheese graters and the short-lived electric “toast-o-lator” as she makes the classic comfort food Welsh Rarebit, while she will prepare and share with the audience.

The cost is $10 for museum members or $12 for non-members, and are available at svma.org or at the door.

The museum is located at 551 Broadway in Sonoma.

“Kitchen Memories” will be on display through Dec. 1, alongside “Delicious Images: Art about Food Paintings and Works on Paper by Wayne Thiebaud and Joseph Goldyne.”

The family day “Everybody in the Kitchen” takes place Oct. 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and costs $10 (free for museum members). Hill will offer another live cooking demonstration on Nov. 9.
