James Lyle Courtice

James Lyle Courtice, passed away on March 25, 2014, at the age of 90. He was the husband of Emily Mills Courtice for 65 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mildred and Irving Courtice and was the father of Daniel T. Courtice, Meryl M. Courtice and the late Molly M. Courtice. He was the brother of Virginia Rankin and Nancy Courtice.

He was a veteran of the United State Army, World War II, a graduate of the University of Denver, with a degree in journalism and public relations and a lifelong woodworker and later in life enjoyed (and was very good at) watercolor painting.

Jim was a longtime resident of Los Altos, after which he retired in Sonoma for 16 years and was a native of Devil’s Lake, N.D.

We all loved him and will miss him very much.

No formal services will be held.

Duggan’s Mission Chapel and Mission Cremation Service were in charge of arrangements.
