James David Verbish, 66, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at his home in Schellville.

A native of San Francisco, he was born to the late Hellen and Michael Verbish, on Feb. 28, 1947.

Having worked as a HVAC repair man his whole life, Jim met and made many friends along the way and was always one to make people laugh with his humor and personality.

His passion for the outdoors was evident as he was a hunter, fisherman and abalone diver. A longtime resident of Sonoma, 50 years, he attended Sonoma schools and was a graduate of Sonoma Valley High School.

Jim is survived by his wife, Cathy; his son, Lucas; and by his stepdaughter, Christy. He is also survived by his siblings, Terry, Mike, Steven and Joe Verbish.

The gates of heaven have opened wide to receive this loving father, husband, brother and friend. While Jim left our lives early, he remains in our thoughts and prayers until we meet again.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cathy or Lucas Verbish, 4250 Applause Way, Las Vegas, NV 89147.
