Jack London State Historic Park is planning a movie night of “a film Jack London would have loved,” park officials said. “Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark” will be screened outdoors on Sunday, Sept. 15, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

When Jack and Charmian London lived at Beauty Ranch, they hosted parties and entertained their friends.

If they had a “media room,” they no doubt would have been fans of adventure films such as the popular Oscar-winning “Indiana Jones” series that celebrate adventure, romance and far-off places, just as the Londons did. The film will be screen under the stars in the Old Winery Ruins.

“Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark” is a 1981 fantasy-adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg, produce by George Lucas and starring Harrison Ford.

Guests are invited to bring their own picnic to enjoy in the park, before the film starts at dusk. Valley musicians Jaydub and Dino will provide live entertainment before the film. Attendees should bring blankets or lawn chairs to sit on and watch the film. It is recommended guests bring a flashlight to guide them out of the park after dark.

Tickets are $15 and include parking and a glass of wine. Children under 12 are free. Tickets can be reserved in advance at jacklondonpark.com or purchased the night of the event.

Jack London Historic State Park is located at 2400 London Ranch Road in Glen Ellen.
