The Sonoma Bocce Ball Association, which recently ended its fall season and 2013 campaign with more than 250 members filling 10 leagues, held its inaugural Sonoma Bocce Tournament, under the direction of tourney committee chair Nancy Dito, last month at the bocce courts south of the gazebo in Depot Park.

At the end of the well-attended and competitive three-day tournament, the 10-team field was narrowed down to the two finalists, with the Wednesday morning league’s Boccenoma edging the Sunday evening league’s Sonoma Blues in a thrilling match to win the Sonoma Bocce Tournament title.

Comprising tourney champion Boccenoma were Ed Cebula, Janis Arendt, Louis Chiotti, Paul Crowley, Jack Doss, Dave Graziani, Barbara Moseley and Jim Tonery.

The second place Sonoma Blues consisted of John Fanucchi, Bill Conte, Lynne Myers, Ron LaRosa, Mike Andrieux, Josephine Davis, Sharon Modrick and Mario Bruno.

Finishing in third place was the Sunday morning league team Great Balls of Fire, which was comprised of Dito, Maryanne O’Shea, Lynn Youdall, Art Weiss-Jones, Julia Ross, Sandra Delmonte, Chuck Broward and Larry Schofield.
