The students in Andy Mitchell’s photography elective at Sonoma Valley High School recently entered the Association of Texas Photo Instructors annual Fall Contest. More than 5,200 images were submitted from schools in Texas, Kansas and California. The following Sonoma Valley High students were honored: senior Giana Monterosso received third place in Advanced Advertising; senior Meran Peterson received an honorable mention in Advanced Advertising; junior Owen Barrett received an honorable mention in Portraiture and second place in Advanced Time Exposure (photo above); senior Christopher Goodman-Chavez received a first and an honorable mention in the Digitally Constructed Single Image, and freshman Anna Stava received an honorable mention in Beginning Animal.
