High school electronics club

Members of Sonoma Valley High School’s new Electronics Club enjoy an informal partnership with the Valley of the Moon Amateur Radio Club. According to Vice Principal Andrew Ryan, this is exactly the kind of community partnership that the high school hopes to foster across a wide variety of disciplines, starting with the school’s Engineering, Technology and Design pathway. VOMARC member Mike Miller recently visited the club to work with students on various projects and VOMARC also recently donated several hundred dollars of tools, including six soldering irons to the club. The Electronics Club meets twice a month at the high school during lunch. On a recent Thursday, seniors Jack Murphy and Jimmy Flatt worked on a project with Miller.
