High school band under new leadership

Casey Jones may only be 25, but he comes to Sonoma Valley High School with a great deal of experience and enthusiasm for his new job teaching the band and choir electives. At a recent practice, the 18 band students were preparing for their role as the high school’s pep band at home football games. Their first home game was in early September. Jones’ seniors conducted the band and his students have practiced 15 songs to get fans on their feet. Sonoma Valley High School’s varsity football team has remaining home games at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 17 and 31.
