Hanna Boys Center a fantastic community member

Editor, Index-Tribune:

We’re writing to express our heartfelt gratitude and to acknowledge what a fantastic community member Hanna Boys Center truly is. Though rather unassuming, Hanna Boys Center quietly returns young people to the fullest expressions of their true selves.

But, even more, Hanna is a generous community member. When the high rental costs of all other public facilities prohibited our low-fee youth basketball team, Sonoma Street Hoops, from obtaining a gymnasium, Hanna shared their wonderful court with our team, and, boy, did we put it to use! Without Hanna’s generosity, many of the players on our team may have been idle (or worse). Instead, our players pounded rock with more heart than you’ve ever seen.

Many developed a new passion for basketball and are now top players in our local schools.

So, huge love back to all the great folks at Hanna Boys Center who made this possible for our players and parents, and who always made each of us feel like family, including Scott Singer, Barbara Merle, David Montana, the facility committee members Monica, Leslie, Maria, Kris, Jim, Debbie, Lou and the wonderful coaching staff Manny, Nick, Daniel (retired), Travis and Courtney. We love you.
