Gunman robs Glen Ellen bank

A lone gunman robbed the Westamerica Bank in Glen Ellen at about 5:51 p.m. Friday and escaped with an unspecified amount of money.

According to a Sheriff’s sergeant on the scene, the gunman walked into the bank, which is located at 13751 Arnold Drive and shares a building with the Glen Ellen Village Market, pointed a gun at the teller who filled a bag with an unspecified amount of money.

The armed robber fled the bank on foot, northbound on Arnold Drive.

The robber was described as a white male, age 20-to-30-years-old, with reddish-blond hair.

Numerous squad cars responded to the scene as did the Sheriff’s helicopter, Henry-1.

The bank has surveillance cameras and law enforcement was waiting for someone to arrive so they could access the video.
