Grid Dragons host Piner tonight

With their four, tough nonleague games finally behind them, the Sonoma Valley High School varsity football boys can finally give their full attention to the remainder of the Sonoma County League season, with two SCL clashes in the books.

The Dragons, who beat longtime rival Petaluma in their league opener, but were soundly defeated by two-time defending champion Analy, will host SCL foe Piner in their homecoming game at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Arnold Field, with the annual event’s festivities taking place at halftime.

Preceding tonight’s varsity game is the junior varsity contest beginning at 5 p.m.

Sonoma’s gridders then travel to Healdsburg for a Friday night, Oct. 24, showdown, before hosting El Molino in their home finale on Halloween Friday, Oct. 31.

The Dragons wrap up regular season play at Elsie Allen in Santa Rosa on Friday, Nov. 7.
