Golf tournament great success

Editor, Index-Tribune:

El Verano School recently held its 10th Annual Golf Tournament at Sonoma Golf Club. The tournament was completely sold out for the first time in its 10-year history, well before the first ball was teed up.

The number of people who helped make this event so successful is almost too long to list in this space, but special thanks has to go to the folks at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa who sponsored the tournament. Their tireless efforts proved once again that when you get the local community involved in the education of its youth, great things happen.

Adding to the success of the tournament was the general manager of the Sonoma Golf Club, Mike Kosak and the manager of the golf shop, Stefanie Thompson. Their preparation and management of the golf course was nothing short of outstanding.

My compliments to the overall success of the golf tournament would not be complete without mention of the work performed by all the members of the El Verano Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and the English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC). They provide the enthusiasm and energy year after year to promote the event by getting local businesses to donate prizes and auction items. The staff and students at El Verano School are blessed to have these kinds of folks helping to make our school the best it can be.
