Geraldine Marie (Cahill) Frost died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, in Sonoma.

Geraldine was 90 years old (or 89, depending upon what she wanted to tell you!) Geraldine will be remembered for her beauty and glamour until the end, and her loving attention to her large family. The smell of a cozy home will always elicit her memory!

Geraldine was born in Duluth, Minn., and moved to San Francisco when she was 3 years old. She was raised in the Mission District and took pride in her San Francisco heritage. Geraldine attended Notre Dame from first- through 12th-grades. She would love to tell you that she walked across the Golden Gate Bridge with the Girl Scouts the day it opened! Geraldine loved fashion, and owned and ran a dress shop in San Francisco for many years. She was married to her dream, U.S. Navy and San Francisco police veteran, Calvin Frost, for 60 years, who preceded her in death in 2004.

Geraldine was the matriarch of a large and loving family. Beloved mother of two children, Larry Frost, who resides in Clayton, with his wife, Robin; and Marianne Frost, of Sonoma. She was the devoted grandmother of seven grandchildren, Erika Frost-Rea and her husband, Bill, of Victor, Mont.; Nicole Frost-Grau of Clayton; Brooke Conner-Sevenau and her husband, Matt, of Sonoma; Shannon Conner-Vargas and her husband, Isaac, of Sonoma; Zachary Conner, Alexander Volz and Camille Volz, all of Sonoma. She was the adoring great-grandmother of seven, Joshua Grau, Clayton; Wyatt Rea, Mont.; Satchel Sevenau, Sonoma; Isaac Vargas, Sonoma; Fiona Vargas, Sonoma; Temple Sevenau, Sonoma; and Emil Vargas, Sonoma.

Throughout her life, all she wanted was to be surrounded by family, attend Catholic Mass and have a martini and a few laughs with friends. Cal and Gerry retired to Sonoma in 1977 where they enjoyed many happy years living and traveling together. Geraldine lived a long and determined life!
