Pride Night at Arnold Field

Sean Conroy set to repeat as starter|

Friday night, June 17, will be a very special game at People’s Home Equity Ballpark at Arnold Field as the Sonoma Stompers host their second annual “Out at the Ballpark.”

The event will help celebrate Pride Weekend in the Bay Area. Theo Fightmaster, general manager of the Stompers, said, “We will be thinking of all of our fellow humans who wish to love and live their lives freely, and without fear. But we have reached out to the Sonoma Police Department, and we feel certain that this will be a positive, safe and welcoming environment, just like it is at every Stompers home game.”

Last year’s Pride Night proved momentous for Sean Conroy, who ‘came out’ as professional baseball’s first openly gay active player. Conroy pitched nine scoreless innings to lead the Stompers to a 7-0 win over the Vallejo Admirals. His appearance led to a historic exhibit at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York.

Their rotating “Today’s Game” display – documenting the highlights of the sport over the previous year – included the line-up card for the Stompers vs. Vallejo Admirals game of June 25, 2015.

Tickets for all Stompers home games are available on stompersbaseball.com, or at the Fan Shop at 234 West Napa St., Sonoma.
