In the midst of yet another year of drought, the Sonoma County Water Agency is co-hosting a Sonoma Valley Community Drought Update and a Drought Drive-Up Event on Wednesday, July 22, in Sonoma.

The Drought Drive-Up will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Sonoma Valley High School, 20000 Broadway Ave., Sonoma. Residents will be able to drive into the bus turnout in front of the high school and receive free water conservation materials, while supplies last.

The Sonoma Valley Community Drought Update and community conversation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sonoma Veterans Memorial Hall, 126 First St. W., Sonoma.

Susan Gorin, chair of the Water Agency board of directors, will moderate the event, with updates on the drought from speakers representing the Water Agency, Valley of the Moon Water District and City of Sonoma. A second panel of speakers from a private business group, the North Bay Water Sustainability Coalition, will discuss how they are innovating to fight the drought.

This event is co-sponsored by the Sonoma County Water Agency, the City of Sonoma, and the Sonoma-Marin Saving Water Partnership.
