7 stages of rain in Sonoma County
It's raining! Click through to see the seven stages of rain we all go through in Sonoma County.
Stage 1: Excitement. It’s going to rain. It’s going to RAIN! All this dry weather and it’s finally going to rain! We’re saved!
Stage 2: Sharing the joy. Did you hear it’s going to rain? Not only have you shared the news on Facebook, but you’ve tweeted it, taken multiple pictures for Instagram and created a special Snapchat filter so you can update everyone throughout the day. Your neighbors are now informed and so is the checker at your grocery store. After all, what else is there to talk about except the change in weather?
Stage 3: Accessorizing. It’s time for rain boots! But wait — you need a coat to match your boots. And then there’s the umbrella, and a rain hat. Hold up…there are matching rain outfits for your dog? Sold.
Stage 4: Reality sets in. You pass three accidents on your way to work, which makes your commute twice as long as usual. It seems like no one remembers how to drive. The rain reminds you that you have a leaky window in your house and your car smells strangely of mildew. You have to clean up muddy paw prints from your dog every time you let him out to pee. The kids are bored.
Stage 5: Fear. This isn’t a little rain, it’s a monsoon! This is stormageddon! Get sandbags, I hear it’s going to flood 20 miles away. Better safe than sorry!
Stage 6: Monotony sets in. It’s raining. Again. Yay.
Stage 7: Acceptance. I guess this is our new reality. It’s just going to rain forever…. But wait, it’s clearing. Are you kidding? We need the rain!
