Firehouse fun

Sunday was the annual open house at the Sonoma Valley Fire and Rescue Authority’s Second Street West fire station. In addition to a pancake breakfast, there were numerous activities for kids including a Halloween costume contest, learning how to use a fire extinguisher, using a fire hose – and there were fire truck rides for kids of all ages. Above, 4-year-old Brody Whitten, who came dressed as a firefighter, reaches into a grab bag of prizes that Engineer Gary Johnson was passing out to the kids.
