The Sonoma International Film Festival is seeking several hundred volunteers to greet visitors, work the parties and screenings, provide hospitality for filmmakers, and help with pre-festival production.
Volunteer training will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at Vintage House senior center, 264 First St. E. Prospective volunteers can still sign up at that time.
Volunteers from previous years have raved about the experience of being amongst the festival’s inner circle and the lasting friendships that they forged.
In addition to these benefits, volunteers are rewarded for their work with tickets to films, a souvenir T-shirt and and invitation to the post-festival Volunteer Party.
Prospective volunteers can sign up online at sonomafilmfest.org/volunteers and choose their availability for different dates and areas of service.
“Volunteering is a unique opportunity to meet new people, contribute to the making of an iconic film festival and make special memories in the process,” said Ginny Krieger, assistant director. “We are very grateful to the members of the community who make this celebration of film, food and wine possible every year.”
The 17th Sonoma International Film Festival, April 2-6, is an intimate celebration of unforgettable cinema, world-class food and fine wine on Sonoma’s historic Plaza. It features more than 90 hand-selected films including independent features, documentaries, world cinema, shorts and a showcase of Spanish language films, all screened in intimate venues.

The Sonoma International Film Festival is spearheaded and supported by the Sonoma International Film Society, a nonprofit organization that founded and funds the media arts programs at Sonoma Valley High School and middle school.
