SONOMA VALLEY HIGH School Booster Club’s major fundraiser for sports, arts and other extracurricular programs – the annual “Super Bowl Eve Crab Feed and Dance” – will take place from 6 to 11 p.m. this Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Sonoma Veterans Memorial Building, 126 First St. W., and include a cocktail hour (no-host bar), a silent auction, buffet dinner and dancing to the Scallywags. SONOMA VALLEY BABE Ruth Baseball Association will hold registration for all players 13-to-15-years-old on or before April 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room at Arnold Field, 250 First St. W., on Monday, Feb. 3, and Thursday, Feb. 6; and from 10 a.m. to noon at the Arnold Field snack bar on Saturday, Feb. 8. Any new player to Babe Ruth must furnish an original-sealed birth certificate, which will be returned upon inspection by a league officer at the sign-ups. Cost for the 2014 season is $195 a player, and the league also requires each family to work a snack-bar shift during the season and a second check for $100 is needed as a snack-bar deposit. This is a refundable check that will be returned after a snack-bar shift is worked. SVBR is still accepting letters of intent, including a resumé of coaching experience, to manage or coach during the 2014 season, and should forward letters to S.V.B.R., P.O. 2113, Sonoma, CA 95476.
