FFA seeks donations for fundraiser

Sonoma’s Future Farmers of America will host its annual fundraiser at Larson Family Winery on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 5 to 9 p.m. Currently, the youth group is looking for donations for the event’s silent and live auction.

“Our event last year was very successful largely due to supporters like you. In our best efforts to make this year’s event a success, we are in need of items for our silent and live auctions,” said Crysta Arroyo, president of Sonoma’s FFA and a junior at Sonoma Valley High School. “Please help support our agriculture program with your generous contributions. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated. All contributions will be recognized in our event’s program.”

The fundraiser’s theme is “From Classroom to Farm to Table, Come Support Youth in Agriculture.” The agriculture education program at the high school includes pathways for students to study animal science, plant and soil science, ag mechanics, agriscience, ag business management and forestry and natural resource management. All fundraising money earned will be used to support the growing agriculture program at the high school, which now has three agriculture teachers and more than 300 members.

Tickets to the Sept. 14 event are $40, and includes two drink tickets.

Larson Family Winery is located at 23355 Millerick Road.
