Music: Dumpstaphunk to bust the lid off the Reel on March 22

Neville family band brings New Orleans funk to film festival after party|

Ivan and Ian Neville’s jazz/funk band Dumpstaphunk will take the stage of the Reel Fish Shop and Grill tonight, Thursday, March 22, as part of the official after-party for the Sonoma International Film Festival.

With three studio albums under its belt, Dumpstaphunk has played at some of the biggest music festivals in the world and is frequently described as as one of the funkiest bands to arise from New Orleans.

“Dumpstaphunk has grown from a small side project into one of New Orleans’ most prestigious modern funk ensembles,” a writer observed in Rolling Stone magazine.

The evening will have a New Orleans theme including a four-course New Orleans meal served up by chief/owner Aiki Terashima.

SIFF badge holders are eligible for a discounted ticket at the door. Tickets ($25-$100) an also be purchased in advance online at dumpstaphunk.com/shows/.
