If punk rock is your forte, then El Verano is your Kings Road this weekend.
Unbeknownst to many, Sonoma has deep roots in the punk scene, going back to the ‘80s with Modern Action Records being a big part of the picture. Never heard of them? Point your browser to modernactionrecords.com.
The Briefs, the Bodies and Roadside Bombs are just some of the acts on the label and many of those acts will be at the El Verano Inn on Friday, May 19. Then on Saturday, May 20, the Bodies will be holding a reunion at the Reel Fish Shop and Grill as a benefit for AKA and Sonoma Valley Little League. This will be the first Sonoma appearance by the band in over five years.
The Bodies will take the stage at about 10 p.m. Opening the show will be Never Fear, featuring Scott DiMartini, who twice placed second in the “World’s Fastest Drummer” contest; Rich Little, owner of Little Vineyards; and Jeff Bundschu of Gundlach Bundschu Winery. The band has a unique way of covering many hard rock classics and turns them almost into a jam. Never Fear hits the stage at 9 p.m.

Friday night music at the El Verano Inn kicks off at 9 p.m. as well, with Roadside Bombs, the Quitters, !No Accion!, and the Has Beens.
