Outdoor film screening at Quarryhill on June 28

SIFF brings ‘A Need to Grow’ to Sonoma|

The screening of the documentary “A Need to Grow” at Quarryhill Botanical Gardens on Thursday, June 28, has been cancelled.

The documentary follows the personal journeys of “solution innovators” as they fight to localize sustainable food systems and regenerate the planet's dying soils.

According to the film's director, Ryan Wirick, “The new food ecosystem proposed in this film will regenerate the soil, support biodiversity, produce far more nutrition per acre, conserve water, require no toxic chemicals or GMOs, empower people at the local level, and never expire. And best of all, it's already happening!”

“The Need to Grow” was the recipient of the Jury Award for Best Documentary Feature at the 21st annual Sonoma International Film Festival.

The film screening may be rescheduled for later this summer.
