Vintner’s Chamber Orchestra at Buena Vista in Sonoma

Nonprofit, public arts charity brings chamber orchestra to area venues|

The Vintners Chamber Orchestra will perform an outdoor, sunset concert at Buena Vista Winery from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 12. Conducted by Alexander Kahn, the chamber orchestra will play pieces for a string ensemble repertoire by composers from the 1800s to present day. The concert is an ongoing effort presented by the nonprofit, public arts charity to raise awareness and funds to continue fulfilling its commitment to bringing high-quality and innovative performances to the North Bay.

The Vintners Chamber Orchestra was created to present Sonoma and Napa counties with a versatile ensemble that can perform concerts in both traditional and non-traditional venues. The orchestra bridges musical performances with culture events such as literary readings, art gallery openings, stage productions and wine tastings. VCO officials say their goal is to offer interactive concerts and break taboos that prevent newcomers from delving into the world of classical orchestral music.

Tickets start at $65 with a glass of wine provided by Buena Vista Winery. Groups are encouraged to reserve tables. Tickets are available at cellarpass.com.
