Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, Sonoma-style

Here’s a list of what is planned for Saturday. Have we missed any? Let us know.|

Despite forecasts of rain, with St. Patrick's Day falling on a Saturday this year the green beer is sure to be flowing in and around Sonoma on March 17. Here's a quick list of planned events.

The St. Patrick's Day celebration on Saturday at the newly reopened Murphy's Irish Pub will closely resemble that of past years, including live music and Irish dancing in the alley. The doors open at 11 a.m. Both the new owners, Dermot and Tom Coll, and previous owners Bob Smith and Bill Pollock, are expected to be on hand.

Also going full green on Saturday is the Reel Fish House and Grill. The team there is hosting a traditional Celtic dinner concert from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and a dance party with Sonoma Sound Syndicate to follow. There will even be an Irish Jig dance competition with a $50 Reel gift card as the prize. The night features $1 green beers, $4 green cocktails, $5 margaritas, a corn beef dinner special and no cover charge.

Jack London Taproom at Cornerstone Sonoma is hosting a beer pop-up in the Sunset Outdoor Test Kitchen complete with games, competitions, prizes and beer from Seismic Brewing Company. Ramekins will also be there grilling up beer brats with all the fixings and other festive treats like green mini cupcakes. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Steiners Tavern is also getting its Irish on with corned beef sliders, green beer, Guinness and more, as well as a DJ who starts on Saturday at 10 p.m.

Sonoma Parlour #111 is hosting a Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner at Vintage House at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $15 and available at Eraldi's. Call Mark Curtis at 287-7683 with questions.
