Sonoma Arts Live to stage “Peter and the Starcatcher”|

Sonoma Arts Live’s “Teens N’ Training” program is looking for actors to cast in its production of the Tony Award-winning play, “Peter and the Starcatcher.” Auditions will be held Saturday, Dec. 16 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Theater School, 19485 Highway 12.

Directed by TNT Education Director Libby Oberlin, the play is an adaptation of Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson’s bestselling novel series, written as “prequels” to J.M. Barrie’s beloved “Peter Pan.”

Male and female auditioners of all skill levels and experience age 13 to 19 are invited to come read from provided scripts. Though the play is not technically a musical, it does include music and teens auditioning for certain roles may be asked to sing a short selection from a pop or rock song.

“’Peter and the Starcatcher’ offers actors the opportunity to play bold characters in the most ensemble-driven play we’ve explored yet with TNT,” said Libby Oberlin. “This show uses ingenious stagecraft and the limitless possibilities of imagination to bring the story to life.”

Callbacks after Saturday’s tryouts will be Monday, Dec. 18 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Rehearsals begin Jan. 10, 2018, and performances will take place at the Community Center March 8 to 18. Price for youth cast in the production is $375. To schedule an audition, RSVP to Moira McGovern at moira@webmoiradesign.com.
